Basics of Particle Counting, Part 2

a particle counter is an instrument that detects and counts particles not visible to the naked eye. Airborne Particle Counters (APCs) specifically use light scattering techniques to count particles in an air sample. A light source (typically a laser light) is used to illuminate the particle as it passes through the sensor. As the particle passes through the laser light it scatters the light onto a photodetector.
